Gentian Jakllari was born  in Skrapar, Albania. After graduating high school, he moved to Greece where he obtained the Bachelor degree in Computer Science at the University of Ioannina in 2002. In 2003 he moved to the US where he obtained the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science at the University of California, Riverside in 2005 and 2007 respectively.

Currently, Dr. Jakllari is a network scientist at the Internetworking Research Department at BBN Technologies, where he is involved in the research and development  of the next generation  mobile ad hoc networks.
